About the Teacher
My name is Alicia Gillespie and this is my first year at HLMS. I'm so excited to start this new chapter in Desoto County. I received my Bachelors and Masters degree from Delta State University. I have been teaching English for the past 8 years. I taught in Coahoma County School District for 7 years at Lyon Elementary School as a 5th and 6th grade English teacher where I was named Teacher of the Year. I also have experience as Mentor Teacher and Reading Tutor. I currently reside in Southaven with my very intelligent, creative and active son Aidan Carter.
