Mr. Andrew Edwards, Principal

Mr. Andrew Edwards is a 2000 graduate of Greenville Christian School in Greenville, MS. After he completed his Bachelor's Degree at Delta State University, he spent one year teaching middle and high school and coaching basketball at Central Academy in Macon, MS.
In 2007, he married his wife Crystal and they moved to Laurel, MS where Mr. Edwards taught middle school history and coached middle school basketball at Northeast Jones Middle School while his wife taught Biology at Wayne County High School. While in Laurel he completed his Master's Degree in History Education from William Carey University. In the 2008-2009 school year he was selected as the AEE Teacher of the Year for Northeast Jones Middle School.
Mr. Edwards and his wife moved to Hernando in 2009 and both began teaching at Hernando High School. Over his time at HHS he taught Mississippi Studies, World Geography, US History, and Advanced Placement US History. He also served as the Social Studies Department Chair and continued his coaching career as the Assistant Coach of the softball program (2009-2015) and the Head Coach of the cross country program (2015-2017). He recently completed his Specialist Degree in Administration from Arkansas State University.
Mr. Edwards lives in Hernando with his wife Crystal and his three children, Lochlan (7), Landry (5), and Ledger (1). They are active members of Colonial Hills Church.
Assistant Principals
What an amazing opportunity to be apart of the Eagle family! I am honored to serve as an assistant principal at Horn Lake Middle School! My previous experiences with DeSoto County include administrative roles at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
In my spare time, I enjoying spending time with my family and traveling. I am very proud to be apart of this great school!
I am excited to serve the students, family, and staff of HLMS. I have spent six years in Memphis as a teacher and five years at Horn Lake High School as a teacher and an administrator. I am committed to ensuring the highest quality education for all of our students.
I received my undergraduate degree through the University of Mississippi and my Master’s degree through Union University. In my time away from work, I spend it with my brilliant wife and my extremely energetic son.

My name is Erica Parks, and I am excited to be the newest member of the Horn Lake Middle School Eagles Family. GO EAGLES!! I am a graduate of Madison Palmer High School in Marks, MS. I hold a bachelor's degree in marketing from Jackson State University, a master's degree from the University of Phoenix, and a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. Education is my second career. After college, I served as marketing director in corporate America.
I am entering my 11th year in education, with 5 of those years served in the North Panola School District, four as an administrator at North Panola Middle School (NPMS). During my time at NPMS, I was a part of the leadership team that increased students' achievement from an F rating to 9pts from a B rating. I taught at Hernando High School (HHS) for five years. At HHS, I lead students to state and national competitions in DECA and brought home state championships every year. I am certified in Business Education, Marketing Education, and Career Pathway Experience along with my administrative licensure.
I am a resident of Hernando, MS. I have two handsome boys, Kylen and Javen Ware, who graduated from Hernando High school and are in college.
